It is with great sadness that the family of Evan James Hostetler Jr. (age 48) residing in Grove City, Ohio announce his passing on Sunday May 30, 2021. Evan was born in Newport News, VA, on Jan. 28,1973 to Evan J. Hostetler, Sr. and Debbie (Orr) Hostetler Mays. He was also preceded in death by his Grandparents, James Edmond Hostetler and Alice Ellen (Jarvis) Hostetler; Grandmother, Norma Wright; Grandparents Robert M. and Dolores M. Buell; and Stepfather, James Mays. Evan was raised in the Lake County area by his father and stepmother Laurel (Buell) Hostetler. He attended Riverside High School in Painesville, Ohio and was captain of the wrestling team. Evan was in Scouts and a camp counselor at Camp Koinonia Christian Camp and Camp Ho Mita Koda Juvenile Diabetes camp. He attended Ashland University, was a TKE fraternity member and graduated from Ohio University. He owned and operated a security business while living in Dublin, Ohio. Evan enjoyed movies of all types, cooking, writing poetry, fishing, and gaming. He enjoyed a good joke and had a fantastic laugh. Evan was a talker and a people person. He loved to engage in conversations with anyone and everyone, and would always remember their name. He will be greatly missed by so many friends and family. Evan is survived by his parents Evan and Laurel Hostetler, Deborah Mays, much beloved son James Robert Hostetler, his brother Matthew Robert Hostetler (Jennifer),nephew Benjamin Matthew Hostetler, sister Juliette Wright Borge, former wife Michelle McCloud Hostetler, Nieces Lily and Norah Borge, nephew Oliver Borge, along with aunts, uncles, and cousins. No service is planned at this time but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
