Eric “Earl” Lee Sims, 50, of Philo, Ohio passed away October 31st 2022.
He was born May 17th 1972 in Zanesville, Ohio and was the son of the late William Lee Sims and Fairie Faye Farris Sims.
Eric was a light in the community. He was a graduate of Maysville High School and immediately after served in the U.S. Marine Corps honorably for 8 years. He has many accomplishments after this, excelling quickly in every job he worked at. He was a Supervisor at Longaberger, Kelloggs, Hall of Fame, and Ridge Corp. He was a member at the American Legion and had many hobbies and interest. He loved working on cars, especially his Jeep Wrangler. He could fix anything all while making anyone laugh or smile. He was a man of many trades. He had a passion for collecting vinyl albums, and music in general. A Notre Dame fan, golfer, card player, and gun enthusiast. Eric loved the outdoors, and most importantly, his dog Ceasor.
Eric will be greatly missed by many. He was an amazing father to Maddi, and a great friend to many. He loved deeply and would do anything for anyone. What brought him the most joy is watching others laugh or making their lives easier in any way.
Eric is survived by his daughter, best friend, and pride and joy Madison Leigh Sims; his dog Ceasor; his Brother William “Bill” (Jill) Sims, and his sister Ronda (Bud) Sims, as well as several nieces and nephews he loves dearly; Sarah Sims, Ethan Sims, Jacob Sims, Alec Sims, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Eric’s family held a private service and will hold multiple memorials and opportunities for friends and family to gather in remembrance as the days come. Information will be provided publicly when available.
In lieu of flowers, please spend quality time with your family. Take photos and videos together. Flowers die but memories do not.
Thank you to all who brought Eric so much joy and love during his life. And thank you to all who have cared for his daughter, dog, and family during these difficult times.
