Edward Kent Griffith

Edward Kent Griffith, 66, of Cambridge, OH, passed away peacefully at his home in Circleville, OH, on July 27, 2022. Edward was born June 28, 1956, in Coshocton, OH, to the late William J. and Florence (Wilfong) Griffith. In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his son, Judd William Griffith; grandson, Thomas Powell; four brothers, Bernie, Robert, Darrel and Tommy Griffith; and four sisters, Ethel Brokaw, Grace Watkins, Donna Wilrich and Cindy Miller.  Edward was a graduate of Cambridge High School and Guernsey Noble Vocational School. He served in the U.S. Army at Schofield Barracks, HI, from 1975-1978 and achieved the rank of Sergeant. Edward worked as an employee of Shieldalloy Cambridge for 25 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Cambridge, OH, where he served as a deacon. Edward also dedicated time to delivering meals for the community Thanksgiving dinner in Cambridge, as well as volunteering as a counselor at Camp Christian in Magnetic Springs, OH.  Above all else, Edward was a loving father with a generous and carefree soul. He is survived by his children Jenna Lane Griffith and Joel Edward Griffith; six grandchildren; two sisters, Corky Vance and Brenda Copley; six brothers, Buddy Barr and Terry, Danny, Phil, George, and Tim Griffith; and many nieces and nephews. The family will hold a memorial service, which will be open to friends and family, on August 15, 2022. The memorial service will be at 5:30pm at the First Christian Church, 1124 Beatty Avenue, Cambridge, OH 43725.
