It is with great sadness that the family of Douglas Starks announces his passing after sustaining injuries from a fatal car accident on Friday, September 30, 2022, at the age of 50 years along with his girlfriend, Rosie Coffman. Doug was born on December 20, 1971, in Cincinnati, Ohio to George and Rosie Starks.
Doug attended Woodward High School in Cincinnati and Reynoldsburg High school in Reynoldsburg. He was passionate about basketball and tutoring. Doug got his Associates Degree at Sinclair College, and he was a leader in the group Kairos at North Central Correctional, often asked to lead the prayer.
Doug spent much of his life incarcerated, however he touched many lives inside and outside of those walls. He was a protector of many and always stood up for his friends. He was known as the "one hitter quitter" because one hit by him and a person would be knocked out.
Doug is preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Wilma Starks, Frank and Mary Sinkfield; his father, George Starks Jr.; and his brothers for life, Robert "base" Wilson and Deshawn "Debo" Lemon.
He will be lovingly remembered and cherished by his mother, Rosie Starks, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; brother, Jerry Starks, of Columbus, Ohio; sister, Stephanie Starks-Lovelady, of columbus, Ohio; two nieces, Arealle Spears and Charlaya Starks, of Columbus, Ohio; two nephews, Reco Spears, of North Charleston, SC and Ray Shawn Clifton Jr., of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; his special son, Douglas Mackin, of Westerville, Ohio; as well as great nieces and nephews, Braylen, Braxton, Roman, Reign, Jebrianna and Sandra.
Dougie Fresh made many friends along his journey and most of them were considered his family. He loved you all and thank you for your presence in his life. It would be too many to mention, so i'm just going to end with this:
DOGPOUND FOR LIFE!!!
