Doris Louise Snell

April 9, 1939 — April 13, 2023

Doris Louise “Sue” Snell, 84, of Carroll, Ohio passed away on April 13, 2023. She was born April 9, 1939, in New Richmond, OH and was the daughter of the late A. James and Doris Atfield.

Doris married Robert K. “Bob” Snell in 1956 and the two spent 64 years together as husband and wife. Doris devoted much of her life to being a stay-at-home mom and later enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. While she did not have a career in the traditional sense, her various interests and desire to stay busy led to her working as an in-home childcare provider, probation officer, bookkeeper, and even a bartender.

Doris always enjoyed camping and playing dice. She also loved garage sales, thrift stores, and spending hours listening to audiobooks. After Bob retired in 1998, the couple spent several years traveling throughout the United States together. They also lived in Florida and Michigan for a few years before moving back to Ohio to be closer to family.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband. She is survived by her son Leonard (Kim) Snell of Carroll, OH, and her daughter Faelyn Fellhauer of AZ; grandchildren Zachary Fellhauer, Aaron Fellhauer, Dana Fellhauer, Carris Clay (Landon Norwood), Alen (Alyssa) Snell, Robert Snell, Keilyn (Tyler) Snell Hall, Reagan Snell, and Adam Snell; great-grandchildren Kaydance Snell, Madelyn Snell, and Charlotte Rohloff. She is also survived by several cousins, sisters-in-law Dorothy Wakeland and Donna (Ed) Heer, and loving niece Brenda Proschek.

A private celebration of life will be held for Doris. We are saddened beyond measure to have lost her and we will truly miss her sweet smile and sharp wit.
