Doris E. Queen (Simoneau), 90, passed away peacefully at her residence, in Gahanna, Ohio, on Thursday, February 10, 2022, with her son, Jason by her side. She was born February 1, 1932, in Marlborough, MA the daughter of the late Ernest and Lumina (Peron) Simoneau. Doris was a longtime employee of the Defense Supply Center Columbus at the 19th Hole and Officers Club. Her true passion was babysitting her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Godchildren, and neighborhood kids. She was a long-time member of St Matthew, The Apostle Catholic Parish and VFW Post #4719. She is survived by her brother Conrad Simoneau and her 7 children: Valerie (Dennis) Giacalone, Susan Myers, Robert (Lisa) Butcher Jr., Diane (Larry) Blancett, Denise (Brad) Woodward, and Jason Queen. She has 14 grandchildren: Brian (Aimee) Crosby, JJ Crosby, Aimee Arendes, Christine (Chris) Pabst, Matthew Butcher, Matthew Blancett, Daniel (Jordan) Blancett, Spencer & Sophia Queen and Mario, Bernadette, Christopher, Jimmy, and Nicole Giacalone. She has 18 great grandchildren: Eli Reeves, Taylor & Peyton Crosby, Jack & Ella Pabst, Madison & McKayla Crosby, Braden Arendes, Bella Edwards, Jackson Blancett, Ariana Lurvey, Nancy Brown, Jonathan & Nico Giacalone, Keigan & Gavin McIntire, Mateo & Lorenzo Medieros Close family friend to Marie (Rodney) Rickman and Godmother to Raegan & Rhys Rickman. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her son Stephen Butcher and grandsons David Blancett and Chad Crosby; brothers Norman, Ernest, Roland, and Richard Simoneau; sisters Lorraine Daley and Annette Boule. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 @ 10:30 am @ St. Matthew, The Apostle Catholic Parish, 807 Havens Corners Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230. A luncheon for family members and close friends following the Mass in the St. Anthony room. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider making a donation, in Doris’s name to St. Matthew, The Apostle Catholic Parish.
