Donald M. Kellett

Donald M. Kellett, age 87, of Newark, OH went to be with our Lord on July 19, 2022. He was born on February 10, 1935, in Blacklick, OH, now New Albany, OH, and was the son of John Robert Kellett, and Alma Lavada Franklin Kellett, now deceased. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Janet Louise; grandaughter, Cheyenne Scott; and eight siblings, Lois, Ina, Opal, Myrna, Robert, Walter, William Ray, and Gene Cook Kellett. Donald graduated from New Albany High School with the class of 1953. Don worked in the flooring industry most of his life, beginning with Wilson Floors, Columbus, OH; following with nearly thirty years with Lazarus. He started in the carpet workroom, cutting carpet and rose to be Customer Relations manager for the Carpet Division of all Lazarus Stores, traveling all of Ohio, and parts of Indiana and West Virginia, to resolve customer problems. After retirement from Lazarus, he continued to work independently, consulting and installing until his health prevented it. He always referred to himself, as "the old carpet layer". Don is survived by his wife of nearly 41 years, Roberta "Bobbi" Tucker, Burchard, Kellett; his former wife of 25 yrs, Eileen(Ike) Wickiser,Kellett; four children,Vicki,(Rick) Lordier; Craig,(Amy) Kellett; Danny(Beth) Kellett; and Cindi (Craig)Scott; three stepchildren, Sara (Mike Seitz) Burchard Schaffer; Charles, Sonny,( Linda) Burchard II; and Penny (Greg) Bickle; brother, Herb (Bertha) Kellett; special niece, Delena Mills; grandchildren/step grandchildren, Marci, Matt, Wendy, Tiffany; Jill, Brian, Brennen, Trent, Courtney,JR.,Nathan,Jonathan, Jeremy,Billi Jo, Serenity, Trey,Paige, Jenna,Brandi,Robert, Jenifer,Greg Jr.and,greatgranchildren/step gg: Hunter,Mykia, Rowan,Chase, Samantha, Elise, Iliza, Alaina, Ruby Kate, Bowan,Kenzie,Bailee,Barrett, Kennen, Peyten,Bryson, Lillian, Griffin, Lleyten, Jalika, Jayda, Jakala, Josie,Caleb, Kailey, many nieces and nephews and gggchildren. Don loved to hunt and fish with his brothers and father. He loved boating and water skiing in the Muskingum River, camping, and taught many children to swim and water ski. He liked nothing better than large family gatherings. We will all miss him very much. The family wishes to thank everyone with Hospice of Central Ohio, whom we think of as Angels on Earth, Bill McMullen, Neighbor and friend who helped us so much, Pastor Kurt Emerson and St John's Lutheran for their support and prayers. Memorial service will take place on Saturday, July 30th, at St John's Lutheran Church, 6004 Linnville Pike, Newark, Oh 43056 at 11 AM, Lunch immediately after service, Interment will take place at a later time, at Maple Grove Cemetery, Granville, OH In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, or St John's Lutheran Church
