Diana Vanek

Diana Vanek (nee Komurek) was born August 5, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois. She departed this world on May 30, 2021 at her home in Lewis Center, Ohio surrounded by her family. Diana is survived by her loving sons, Brian (Rhonda) and Kevin (Jenny) Intrieri; her beloved grandsons, Henry, Jonathan and Joseph Maxwell Intrieri; and her brother, Henry Komurek. Diana was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Anna Komurek; and her brother, William Komurek.
Diana was an avid cook who loved experimenting in the kitchen. She spent many hours tinkering with recipes until the end results were up to her lofty standards. She was also passionate about decorating, antiquing, and was an avid reader. She loved dogs and has now been reunited with three of her best friends.
Diana volunteered with many organizations throughout her life including A.R.C., Riverside Hospital and hospice care to name just a few. 
Diana had many jobs throughout her life with the hardest and most rewarding one being, as she always said, the raising of two active, strong-willed boys. She was very proud of her work at The Ohio State University where she was an assistant to the Dean of the college of Mathematics. She retired from Ohio State in 2010. 
Diana will be interred at Clarendon Hills Cemetery, Darien, Illinois where she will forever rest in peace surrounded by her family.
