Dian Lee Gerke

June 16, 1954 — July 1, 2021

Dian Lee Gerke (Dover) of Columbus, OH passed over the rainbow bridge on July 1st, 2021 peacefully surrounded by her family. Dian was born in Macomb, MI on June 16th, 1954 and was the daughter of the late Earl and Helen Dover. She is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Helen Dover. She was an avid collector of unique stones, a lover of nature and fishing. She crafted the most beautiful flower arrangements and wreaths anyone could imagine. She had a fire that burnt inside her no one could extinguish, a fight that was never ending, and a passion for never giving in or giving up. She will be greatly missed. She was a loving mother to three and a Gaga to four and four fur-babies. Dian had a strength to her that was unmatched even to herself. She was a spit-fire of a person and never forgotten by anyone she met. Dian taught us the meaning of strength, of independence, of never giving up and never giving in. Dian has passed on a legacy of life to daughter Candice and her husband Scott Hart and their children Ireland and Whitten, her son Sean and his wife Jenifer Gerke and their fur-babies Winston, Piper and Kiwi, and her daughter Stacy and her husband Gabe Ferrari and daughters Gabby and Harper, and fur-baby Pork Chop. There will be no services held at this time. A special thank you to the staff at OSU East and the staff at Westerwood for all of the care and support you gave Dian and her family. Mom always had a way to teach independence: “God helps those whom help themselves” and “God gave you two arms and two legs, if you want something go get it”. Mom, you will be missed, but know you taught your family how to stand on their own and never go quietly into the night. We love you, we will miss you. Until we will meet again.
