Denzel Zane Ball

Denzel Zane Ball, a proud veteran, devoted family man, and spirited patriot, passed away on March 13, 2025, at the age of 71 in Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on September 18, 1953, in Columbus, Ohio, Denzel lived a life marked by service, dedication, and an unwavering love for his family and country.


Denzel honorably served in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Airman First Class and earning the National Defense Service Medal for his service during the Vietnam War. His dedication to duty continued with the Ohio Military Reserve, where he served as First Sergeant in the 21st Battalion, 2nd Brigade, and as a Trainer of Non-Commissioned Officers for a Quick Response Support Team.


Throughout his career, Denzel showcased tireless work ethic and determination. Denzel worked as Night Supervisor at Jeffrey Manufacturing Company and later as Warehouse Manager for Quest International, American Education Publishing, and Evenflo Corporation. Most recently, he embraced the open road as a Long Haul Trucker, finding freedom and joy on the open road.


Above all, Denzel was a devoted father and grandfather. He is lovingly remembered by his son, Nathan Ball; his daughters, Chandra Balducci (Vinnie), Charlotta Ball, Abigail Blanton (Daniel); and his cherished grandchildren: Lilah, Maggie, Gia, Bella, Mitzy, Skylar, Rhory, and Brooks. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Charles Ball, and his brother, Colsen Ball.


Denzel was a gun and survival enthusiast who found the most joy in sharing time with his family and friends. An avid supporter of President Donald Trump, he wore his patriotism proudly, often donning cowboy hats and gear that reflected his love for his country.


A celebration of Denzel’s life will be held on March 30, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Mill Dam Corner Grille, located at 3982 National Rd SE, Hebron, Ohio 43025. In keeping with his bold and spirited nature, attendees are encouraged to dust off their cowboy boots, hats, and patriotic attire in his honor.


Denzel Zane Ball lived life on his own terms, leaving behind a legacy of courage, loyalty, and love that will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
