Denise E. Davis

February 27, 1954 — November 27, 2024

Denise Evon Davis, of Columbus Ohio, formerly of Salisbury, Maryland, gained her wings on November 27,2024. Denise was born on February 27, 1954, to Grace Ann Walls in Milford, Delaware. After graduating from Wicomico Senior High School in 1971, she moves to Wilmington, Delaware where she began her career in cooking. After 10 years she moved to Baltimore, Maryland, she attended Community College of Baltimore and received her degree in Food Administration. Denise used her education to land jobs; Roy Rogers, General Manager at Masci Restaurant, Sodexo USA, and John Hopkins Hospital before retiring in 2016. After she retired, she moved back to Salisbury to be closer to her family.

Denise was preceded in death by her mother Grace Anne Walls, three sisters Lucinda Corbin, Vanessa Jackson, and Kim Anita Anderson, nephew Roy Norwood Davis III and great niece Ebony Dawn McInnis. She is survived by ex-husband Phillip Blanding, one sister, Monica Elaine Davis and two brothers, Theodore Roosvelt Walls II and Joseph Johnson II and a host of nieces and nephews.

Denise was a diligent worker with a big smile. She was strong, kind, loving, and could feed a multitude with her delicious cooking. She loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She worried about them, applauded them but most of all she gave them fun times. Denise will be desperately missed by all that she has left behind. Our hearts are broken by this great loss to our family. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her is truly a blessing.

At her request, in her final wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service by her immediate family. She wished to be remembered and acknowledged as: a loving sister, an amazing auntie, loyal and unselfish friend, and an esteemed, hardworking, and respected colleague.
