Deanna Smith

Deanna “Dee” Smith of Columbus, OH, went to heaven on July 23,2022 at the age of 53. She was born on June 13,1969 at Maddison County Hospital and was the daughter of Darlene Burritt and Claude Borders. Deanna grew up in West Jefferson, OH and was the middle child to two other siblings. Every night in the summer they rode their bikes till dark, and during the day her favorite place to be was the West Jeff pool. After attending and graduating from West Jeff High, class of ‘87, she got her first job as a dietician aid at a local nursing home. And later started a job at Eddie Bauer. While working at the age of 21, she became disabled and was a stay at home mom to two children. Her daughter stated “growing up wasn’t easy. But everyone loved her and she was considered the neighborhood mom to everyone”. Many things she loved was her sweet tea. She also loved to collect pens and purses. But above all, she loved her grandchildren. Over the last year of Deanna’s life, she fought a long hard battle of being ill. She fought so hard and was determined to not give up. But god had better plans for her and she will be greatly missed and forever loved by those who knew her. She is survived by her children Zachary Borders and Danielle South; sister Tracy Ledbetter; nieces Aerin and Hanna; 4 grandchildren John, Zoie, Jayden and Ariyah. There will be no memorial service. But please keep all of her family in your prayers.
