Deanna Kay Caplinger

Deanna Kay Caplinger 73 of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully at home December 6, 2024. She was born September 11, 1951 and Graduated from Marion Franklin HS in 1969. She is predeceased by her parents Clarence and Maridell Hoppes. She was survived by her husband William J. Caplinger sister Vicki Garrett, Son Robert (Jackie) Kocher, daughter Kerri Richards and Five Grandchildren Leah(Emit) Kilbarger, Kayla Kocher, Austin, Anthony and Abbigail Richards, her Niece and nephew Brandi (Jesse) Myers, Pat (Crystal) Garrett. Great nieces and nephew Faith Terry, Miranda Myers, DJ Garrett, and her only great granddaughter. 

She worked over 30yrs at General Motors in various positions following in her father’s footsteps. After retirement she stayed home to care for her three youngest grandchildren for over 10yrs. Dee loved sports and enjoyed going to all of her kids and grandkids games. She loved to gamble going on trips to the casinos and Bingo. She loved to go fishing and took trips with her father and family from Florida to Canada.

Dee was feisty and fierce and had a heart of gold. She would do anything she could for the ones she loved. Dee was an animal lover and is leaving her cat she brought in from the outside Walter for Bill to care for.

The family would like to thank Mount Carmel Hospice for the compassionate care they provided in Dee’s last months, especially Sarah her nurse who would check on her daily. Leaf Cremation for lovingly preparing for her final rest. Also the many friends and family’s thoughts and prayers were greatly appreciated. She will be deeply missed.
