David Russell Lanman, age 57 of Ashville, Ohio went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 8, 2023 at the James Cancer Hospital of Ohio State University Medical Center after a four-year battle with cancer. Born on September 12, 1965 to Carroll A. and Doris J. Lanman in Bloomfield, Iowa. Dave is survived by his mother, Doris, of Ashville, Ohio; brother Dan, sister-in-law Beth, nieces Aubree and Averi of Pendleton, Indiana; sister Vicki of Columbus, Ohio; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins mostly scattered throughout Iowa and Illinois, and his cat, Pudge. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and several other family members. Dave graduated in 1983 from Orion High School in Orion, Illinois. Until recently Dave was a co-owner of HO Fibertrends, a company that made fiberglass parts for Ford Mustangs as well as other models. He was a Ford Mustang enthusiast and at one time had a couple cars he would drag race. He would also occasionally take his Ford F-250 Super Duty diesel truck down the drag strip. Dave was a supporter of several Ford car clubs including the Performance Ford Club of America, National Mustang Racers Association, Southern Ohio Ford Club, SVO Mustang Club of America, and United Ford Owners to name a few. He would attend several yearly car shows and loved talking “all things Ford Mustang”. He leaves behind a plethora of friends who considered him like family. He also had other hobbies and interests that included toy tractors, big tractors, Nascar memorabilia, belt buckles, coins, etc. He will be greatly missed. A memorial will be held at a later date.
