David Clinton Sparks

May 10, 1957 — March 3, 2024

David Clinton Sparks, 66, of Fairborn, Ohio, finished his journey on March 3, 2024.

David was born May 10, 1957, in Dayton, Ohio. He was the youngest son of James B. Sparks and Cora Lucille Sparks. David was preceded in death by Cheryl Sparks (Wife), Edward (Eddie) Benton Lewis (Uncle), Vicki Lynn Lewis (Aunt), James C Hayden Sparks-Jimmy (Brother), Cheryl Johnson (Mother-in-Law), Marson (Mark) Lewis (Uncle), Harold Lewis (Uncle), Heather N. Lewis (Conley)(Cousin), Delilah N. Sparks (Niece), and Teresa C. Sparks (Sister-in-Law),  and Kenny Wallace.

David loved muscle cars, motorcycles, and music. He enjoyed working on cars and engines and was a gifted carpenter in his youth. David attended Wright State University briefly to study business. David enjoyed playing basketball and swimming with his sons & nephews at family functions in the earlier days. David was a loyal friend. Also, maybe not known, but a fantastic cook. He loved his brothers and sister very much, but most of all, he loved his mother. If anyone truly knows David Sparks, they know if a guitar was present, he was down to entertain. David came from a musical family. A phenomenal guitar player would be an understatement. A true guitar man in every aspect of life. David lived the life of a drifting Cowboy. He had talents that could have known no bounds. Life doesn’t always work out the way we would like it to.

David’s departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound, gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him deeply. He was not perfect. None of us are. David struggled with inner demons that altered his life. On the afternoon of March 3, I felt God said, “That’s enough.” It's time to come home. It's scary to contemplate God’s judgment. God knows the condition of David's heart better than anyone.

David is survived by sons David Holley (Julia) (Chicago, IL), Clinton Sparks (Becky) (Huber Heights, OH), Daniel Babb (Dayton), and Daughter Daysia Babb (Enon) Deborah R. Guzman (Daughter). Grandchildren-Hendrix Holley (Chicago, IL), Linkon Sparks (Huber Heights, OH), Lyla Sparks (Huber Heights, OH), Darian Babb (Enon, OH), Emilee Harris (Jacksonville, FL). Brother Kenneth Sparks (Gay Sparks) (Parker City, IN), Twin Sister-Delilah Sparks Helton (Fairborn, OH), and countless Cousins, nieces and nephews.

David will be cremated - Services TBD.
