Daniel Dean Achor, age 78, died unexpectedly of Cancer on July 9, 2022 in his home in Bellefontaine, Ohio, surrounded by family and friends. Daniel is survived by his wife, Sandra Achor (Houston), his children, in order of age: Dana Huff (Achor) of Piqua, Ohio; Antoinette (Betty) Heuer (Achor), of Las Vegas, Nevada; Daniel R. Achor of West Mansfield, Ohio; and Whitney Achor; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; Sibling’s, Hazel Faulkner-Achor of Urbana, Ohio and David Achor of Bellefontaine, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle (Shellie) Houston (Achor) who died on May 31, 2010; and 4 Sisters. Daniel was born on April 23, 1944 in Russell’s Point, Ohio, to parents Helen Achor (Cox) and Wilbur Achor. Daniel and the love of his life, Sandy, lived together in Bellefontaine, Ohio where he accepted a position as a Material Handler at Ceva Logistics, where he worked for more than 20 years and retired in December, 2020. Daniel loved life and the excitement of camping, his dogs and his family. Daniel also carried much love and many regrets and guilts for all of his children. Daniel and Sandy have been together since July of 1985 and Daniel finally convinced Sandy to marry him on September 15, 2001. Daniel fell in love with Sandra’s young daughter at her tender age of 4. Together the couple shared turbulent times caring for Shellie and her two children, Austin and Ariana until Shellie died unexpectedly at the age of 27 from complications due to Diabetes. Daniel was a hard working man who spent the majority of his life pulling his family back together. He enjoyed family gatherings with his children and grandchildren, having his friends around him, and video calls with his daughter Toni (Betty) and Sandy his wife. His family and friends will always remember him as a kind hearted, loving and dedicated man. In the end, his family was his pride and joy. Daniel didn’t want a funeral or any type of memorial as he didn’t want anyone looking ‘down’ on him after his death and requested to be cremated instead. His remains will be returned to his loving wife Sandy who will memorialize him beside their daughter Shellie. The family will be holding a private Celebration of Life with the date to be determined. Close friends will be invited to join the family. The family would like to thank his Daughter, Dana Huff (Achor), and his Granddaughter, Brandi Haahr for whose hard work, care, and knowledge we could not have done without, and his granddaughter Ruth Gregory for providing calm, positive energy with her caring touches and remaining by his side. The family would also like to recognize his son Daniel R Achor and his wife Connie who could not be here with us. Connie played an enormous part by providing our brother Daniel with real-time information all the way through. We would also like to send our love to our sister Whitney who also could not be here with us. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to any animal shelter of your choice as Daniel dearly loved all animals.
