Conley

Vernon "Conley" Wells, age 82, passed away peacefully on August 1st, 2024 in Grove City, Ohio. Conley was born April 1st, 1942 in Harlan County, Kentucky. He married the love of his life, Lana (McGaffee) Wells on February 3, 1964. He retired in 2009 after almost 50-years as a proud supervisor at Buckeye Steel in Columbus, Ohio. Conley was a hard-working, family-oriented, loving, and generous man. He loved to work on cars, tend to his garden, and take care of his chickens and ducks, until his health started to decline. He loved to work on his various "projects" and build things for those he loved. There was nothing that he could not fix and nothing that he would not do for the people he loved. He was a loving husband, a cherished father-in-law, and a wonderful Dad, a proud Papaw, brother, uncle, and friend.

Conley is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Beatrice Wells, and sisters: Katherine Stone, Beverly Taylor, and Gayle Hannan. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lana Wells; daughter, Carla (Jim); son, Rob (Barb); grandchildren, James, Joshua, Jacob, Alix (Joel), Zack (Emily), and Bryce (Zack); great-grandchildren, Vernon, Nila, Jackson, Dottie, Waverlee, and Walker; sisters, Phyllis Waterman and Merlene Dugger; and brother-in-law Dave (Teresa) McGaffee; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family extends their greatest gratitude to Bella Care Hospice for the exceptional care they provided.

A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date.
