Chuck Schmitz Jr

Charles “Chuck” James Schmitz, Jr. passed away peacefully at home, with family by his side, on January 15th, 2023. Chuck was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 17th, 1958 to Charlie and Mary Sue Schmitz.

Chuck loved his family and always made sure everybody was well taken care of. He was a hard working individual and an inspiration to his children. He retired in 2015 from HVAC service. Even after retirement, Chuck kept busy with many different projects around the house and taking care of his dog, Betts. He loved watching the Andy Griffith show, MASH, Sanford & Sons, and any show that had to do with cars or fishing. Chuck loved spending time outdoors. One of his favorite activities was fishing and boating at Burr Oak State Park.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, and father in law, Roman Krauss. Chuck is survived by his wife, Terri and children CJ (Samantha), Mike (Megan), Steve, Amy, Emily (Cameron). He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Poppy and Mikey. They were the light of his life.

Chuck was a very private person and requested no showing or funeral. There will be a private gathering to celebrate his life with family and friends. More details will follow.
