Charles (Chuck) Alva Holman, Jr., 64 of Russells Point, Ohio, passed away February 2, 2022 at OSU Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Charles was born March 25th, 1957 In Granite City, Illinois, to the late Charles Alva Holman, Sr. and Cecelia (Warmoth) Holman. Chuck was a proud United States Air Force veteran, serving as an airplane engine mechanic at Fairchild AFB in Spokane, WA, and Keflavik AFB in Iceland. Following his service time, he was a machinist by trade and enjoyed volunteering his time with the Red Cross teaching CPR and first aid, and taught many hunter’s safety courses. He was also active in teaching and mentoring boys through the Royal Ranger ministry of the Assemblies of God for over 30 years. Chuck also treasured his time in the Frontiersman Camping Fellowship, for which he hosted several annual campouts. He is survived by his wife, Susan, whom he married on March 12, 1982 in Granite City, IL. He is also survived by two sons, Matthew (Katherine) Holman, of Collinsville, IL, and Joshua Holman of Lorton, VA, three granddaughters - Breanna Fowler and fiancé Eric Smith of Belleville, IL, Kayla (Jaden) Jenkins of Belleville, IL, and Emily Holman and fiancé Will Wood of Collinsville, IL, as well as great granddaughter Khloe Jenkins. He is also survived by a sister, Ruth Bozza of Niceville, FL, brother in law Jack Johnson of Granite City, IL, and brothers and sisters in law, Charles (JoAnn) Hull of Alhambra, IL, Melinda (Kevin) Weston of St. Petersburg, FL, Valerie (John) O’Connell of Collinsville, IL and Barry (Sarah) Hull of Pontoon Beach, IL, along with many nieces and nephews and his loyal dog Baby. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Charlene Roberts, and Jackie Johnson. Per his wishes cremation will be performed. Memorials can be made to the family.
