Christa Marie Johnson

Christa Marie (Eskew) Johnson, 73, of Sidney, Ohio, went to heaven to be with God and family who left before us on May 10th, 2024.

She was born August 30th, 1950 in Dayton, Ohio and was the daughter of the late James & Betty Eskew.

She was also preceded in death by brothers Carry & Jay Eskew.

Christa grew up on Schantz Ave. in Oakwood, Ohio with her large family where she had many fond memories. As a child and teenager she also enjoyed time spent at the family cottage on Indian Lake. Soon after graduating from Alter High School in the class of 1969 she married Robert (Bob) Johnson with whom she had two sons, James & Travis. She lived abroad in Germany for several years with Bob while he served in the United States Army. Upon returning home she lived between Ohio and Florida at various times. No matter where life's journey had taken her, Ohio was always "home" as she enjoyed the changing of seasons and she eventually settled in Sidney, Ohio to be close to son James and his family, her beloved grandchildren.

Christa or as many knew her, Chris, was a kind and loving person with family being the greatest joy and focus of her life. She was also committed to her faithful companion and beloved Schnauzer, Francie. She had a wonderful sense of humor and exemplified the meaning of "unconditional love". Also know as the "Bird Lady", she was passionate about nature and wildlife, truly enjoying watching and feeding the birds, squirrels and all other animals that passed through her yard. Christa was devout in her faith to God and savior, Jesus Christ, speaking of it and the comfort it gave her in her final days.

She leaves behind her son, James Johnson his wife Marci and grandchildren Abigail, Logan, Emma and Aiden, son Travis Johnson his wife Jennifer, brothers Travis Eskew, Mike Eskew, Scott Eskew and Sean Eskew and many beloved nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A private family service is to be held at a date and time to be determined.
