Cheryl Diane Lemley

Cheryl Diane Lemley, 68, unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on January 8, 2023, at Mount Carmel East Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.

She was born February 24, 1954 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Donald and Sally Lemley.

Cheryl earned her Associate’s Degree of Secretarial Science in 1985 from J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College in Richmond, VA. She was an avid writer and had a great love for poetry. However, her greatest love was for her children and grandchildren.

Surviving Cheryl is her husband Pete Evans and her three children, Timothy Wingo Jr., Chantelle Lemley-Wingo and Jon Anderson; all of Columbus, Ohio. She had 14 grandchildren: Janelle Hughes, Timothy Wermuth, Mahaylia Hambrick, Makayla Hardin, Tristen (TJ) Burd, Amiyah Lemley, Kiyah Lemley-McManus, Israel Williams, Ariana Lemley, Kamiyah Lemley, Rayshawn Anderson, John (JD) Anderson, Keara Anderson and Dealun Anderson. In addition, she had three great-grandchildren: Vaylyn and Nylana Wermuth and Ayla Hughes. Nephews and nieces: Raymond Pollard, Nikki Pollard, Alan Lemley II, Michael Smith Jr., Nakia (Scott) Bush, Latoya Lemley, Brandon Ward, Shanise Lemley, Julian Ashburn, Apryl Jacoby Ashburn and Timiya Ashburn. She was also cherished numerous great-nieces and nephews.

Cheryl is also survived by siblings: Alan Lemley of Chillicothe, OH, Donna Avery, Houston, TX, Brenda Lemley, Dayton, OH, and Apryl Ashburn (Mark Dewberry) of Gahanna, OH. She is preceded in death by brother Alvin Pollard.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the First Baptist Church, 65 W. Fourth St. Chillicothe, Ohio 45601, with Reverend Eric Carson officiating. Visitation will be held for family and friends from 10:00am-11:00am.
