Carolyn J. Mayer

Carolyn J. Mayer, 73, of Westerville, Ohio passed away on October 20, 2020 after a long battle with cancer. Carolyn was born May 18, 1947 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late John K. and Dora J. (Cosgrove) Mayer. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Raymond K. Mayer. She was a strong believer in the benefits of continuing education and learning all that you can. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from the Ohio State University and then her master’s from the University of Akron. Most of her career was then spent educating others as an associate professor at various colleges throughout Ohio. She is survived by a niece Raelene (Jim Myers) Riggins of Mansfield, Ohio; and two nephews Brian (Ricky Cook) Mayer of Columbus, Ohio; and Christopher (Emily) Mayer of Jackson, Michigan. She is also survived by four great-nieces, four great-nephews and many cousins. A memorial service will be held later in 2021. Memorial contributions can be made in Carolyn’s honor to the Stephanie Spielman Fund or Hospice of Central Ohio.
