Carol "Jane" Branson

d. September 18, 2024

“Don’t think of her as gone away, her journey’s just begun Life holds so many facets, this earth is only one. Just think of her as resting from the sorrows and the tears In a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days or years.

Think how she must be wishing that we could know today How nothing but our sadness, can really pass away. And think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched For nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved so much.”

Our beloved Mother and Grandma, (Carol) Jane Branson, departed this earth peacefully after a 6-year battle with breast cancer. Despite her initial stage 4 diagnosis in 2018, she remained vibrant and vigilant in her fight against the disease. Unexpectedly, she developed a secondary illness which due to her cancer, was deemed inoperable and became rapidly terminal. Her last day on earth was spent talking and laughing with loving family and being cared for by kind and gentle staff at The James Cancer Hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Columbus, Ohio. Family was with Jane and holding her hand when she transitioned to the Heavenly gates at approximately 3:33 AM on September 18, 2024.

Jane was passionate about her children, grandchildren, and her pet cats, as well as her grand-dogs. Her limitless love of and devotion to animals led her to years of service in cat-rescue where she helped to rescue, feed, rehabilitate, socialize, and home hundreds of stray and feral cats.

Jane was an artistic soul who loved painting, sketching, and creating beautiful home décor as well as theatrical costumes and flower arrangements. She would get swept away in her projects, working tirelessly to bring her visions to life. She experienced a great deal of joy in blending this creation of art, costume, décor, and party planning in her past job at the Highland County Senior Citizens Center.

Jane is survived by: her son, Ken Branson (Tina); her daughter, Kathy Branson; her grandchildren: Paige Branson (Andrew Perks); Spencer Brown; Karlee Davis (Trenton); great-grandson, Jentezen Davis; and numerous other family members.

Jane’s children and grandchildren will hold a closed private service to memorialize Jane’s remains in prayer and planting of a tribute “Magnolia Jane” tree at her son’s home. For in our hearts, she will always be a beautiful blooming flower.

Jane’s Facebook account will remain open and all are welcome to post memories and/or final words to her there.
