Carol Ann Thompson (nee Elwell) (nee Brown) was born October 10, 1948, to the union of Eleanor (La Motte) and David Elwell in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the second daughter of four daughters born to their union (both parents preceded her in death). Carol spent most of her childhood in the Broadway area and then moved to Willoughby, Ohio. She attended Willoughby City Schools. Carol married Frederick M. Brown, Jr. in 1967. One daughter, Yvonne Marie, was born to this union. She later married Charles Frank Thompson (and became the mother of four in love). They were together for 42 years before he entered eternal rest on April 7, 2017. Carol and Charles loved to fish. Their favorite fishing location was Rest Haven in Castalia, Ohio, where they would often spend the weekend catching Bass and Blue Gil. In addition, Carol loved to read and bake (she baked until her health began to fail). Most important she loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Carol worked as a Health Unit Coordinator at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio until she retired. Carol relocated to Columbus, Ohio in July 2020 to be closer to her daughter. She leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Yvonne (Larry), grandchildren, Jasmaine (Terry), Jamiel, and Jahrie Hamm (all of Cleveland, Ohio); grandson in love, Nicholas Jackson (Toni) and their children, Sadé, Sanaa, and Samuel, also of Cleveland, Ohio; great grandsons, Dominique, Jamier, and Kingston; as well as a great granddaughter to be delivered in July, Jade. Carol entered eternal rest on April 11, 2022. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Zusman Community Hospice in Columbus, Ohio. Services are private.
