Brian Glen Jones

December 10, 1980 — November 2, 2022

On Wednesday, November 2, 2022, Attorney Brian Glen Jones, 41, a beloved

husband and father, passed away. Born to Michael and Marcia Jones, Brian

graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University and attended the University of Akron

School of Law, and was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 2007.

That same year, Brian’s principles were put to the test in the courtroom and he

passed with honor. Brian’s bravery was well-known and well-respected in the legal

community. Brian founded the Law Office of Brian Jones, LLC, and practiced with

his beloved wife, Elizabeth (Liz) Emelia Osorio Jones. Brian dedicated his legal

career to standing as the last line of defense of the accused against the mighty

power of the justice system. He was a Board Member of the Ohio Association of

Criminal Defense Lawyers; member of the National Association of Criminal

Defense Lawyers; and an alumni of Trial Lawyers College and member of the F-Warriors.

Brian’s generosity of heart and spirit was cherished by many friends, colleagues,

and family members. He took phone calls at all hours of the day and night, in

locations all over the continent, to answer questions and strategize with

colleagues. He employed many interns and law clerks who went on to become

lawyers who shared his ideals for the right to a defense and the presumption of

innocence.

Brian’s love for trial work was matched only by his love for his treasured children,

Sydnie (Theo) Jane Jones, Kayden Leigh Jones, and Taylor Grace Jones. Brian and

his children enjoyed hiking, camping, RV-ing, playing outside, and playing video

games. Brian coached soccer and was passionate about developing skill and

sportsmanship.

Any time Brian had that was not spent on his practice or his family was spent

playing ice hockey and roller hockey. His team, Menace to Sobriety, became like a

family to him, and will miss him on the ice and in their lives.

Many admired Brian for his tenacity and warrior spirit. When Brian was diagnosed

with an advanced, rare, and aggressive form of stomach cancer in October 2021,

he was determined to fight for the life he had sacrificed to create. His devoted wife

was by his side for every treatment, surgery, hospitalization, and finally, hospice.

Remembered for his good humor and spirit in the chemotherapy infusion ward,

Brian’s gregarious personality earned him friends everywhere he went.

Brian’s final days were filled with love, friends, and family in the comfort of his

home. He was surrounded by music, including by his favorite artist, Dave

Matthews Band. Brian traveled near and far to see Dave Matthews Band and Dave

Matthew’s & Tim Reynolds for a lifetime total of 54 shows.
