Beverly Jean Higgins

Beverly Jean Higgins born May 18, 1945 passed away peacefully in her home on April 20, 2023. Preceded in death by her parents Frank and Alice Donaldson, sister Rose Rucker, and son James Upperman. Beverly is survived by her brother Gary Donaldson, three children Rob (Heather) Upperman, Peggy Green, and Angela Higgins, grandchildren Jimmy (Haleigh) Green, Zachary Upperman, Lily Gullion, and Cody (Tiera) Gullion, great-grandchildren Kyler and Chelsa Green, and many other family members and friends she loved and cherished.

Beverly worked at Radio Shack for many years and was an active member of her community. She was a long time volunteer of Ronald McDonald House Charities and was close to celebrating 20 years as a member of the South Side Civic Association. She also volunteered at Cedarwood Elementary School and went on several mission trips to Honduras with her church. When Beverly wasn’t at home tending to her grandchildren or homegrown strawberries and cherry tomatoes you’d more than likely find her at the thrift store, the South Side Flea Market, or helping someone in need.

Per Beverly’s wishes there will not be a viewing but the family will have a celebration of life where friends can gather at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Ronald McDonald House of Charities.
