Bev

February 26, 1939 — August 7, 2023

Beverly Sue Collins, fondly known as Bev, passed away at the age of 84, in Chillicothe, Ohio on August 7, 2023, due to a subdural hematoma. Born on February 26, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio.

During her last days she saw angels who were calling her up into the lords embrace. Bev's life was a testament to the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), which is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, faith, meekness and temperance, leaving a legacy of love, resilience, and joy that will continue to inspire those who knew her.

Preceded by her grandparents, Olive and Alva Hayslip, her mother, Freda (Hayslip) and stepfather, Thomas Cronin, her husband John Richard Collins Sr., (JR), granddaughter, Erica (Collins) Cox, daughter, Tammy Whitcraft Thompson, and sister, Mary K Fidler. Bev's memory will be cherished by a large and loving family. She is survived by her brothers, James Mitchell, Gill Taylor, and her sister, Alice Marshall, her children, Tina (Rick), Mary (Tony), Joe (Sharon), Charlene (Fred), Tom (Lura), Bob (Michelle Porter), Nikki Collins, and her, son-in-law, Jay Whitcraft.

Bev’s life was enriched by her numerous grandchildren, Rick, Kristina (Jeremy), Jessica (Casey), Jason, Angie (Ken), Danielle (Rick), Shawnda, Joey (Tiffany), Ashlee, Bobby, John JJ (Nikki), Michael, Dillon, Richard (Trish), Lizzy (Theresa), Shelby, Katie, Robby (Brittany), Ryan.

She also had the joy of knowing her great-grandchildren; Trayvon, Clayton, Landen, Trent, Macy, Elaina, Aaron, Jacob, Eliana, Thailur, Jonny, Jake, Andrew, Kamryn, Aidan, Grant, William, Maci, Morgan, Mariah, Trent, Haiylee, Myles, Brenden, Noah, Aniston, Kail, Allison, Emery, Braxton, Kollin, Oliver and Owen.

Bev always maintained that her greatest achievement and pride were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved making up funny song lyrics and singing to her grandchildren while making funny faces. She also loved doing crafts and making paper dolls, something she did as a child growing up on the farm.

Her resilience in the face of adversity was an inspiration to all who knew her and her capacity for joy was truly infectious.

Bev said not to mourn for her, but with great love comes great sorrow, her passing is a great loss to her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones, serving as a beacon of love, resilience, and joy.

Bev's life was a testament to the power of kindness, love and forgiveness, qualities that will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate to have known her.
