Audrey June Kerber (Davis) passed away January 3, 2021 in Columbus OH. Audrey was born June 6, 1926 in Johnstown, PA to Edward & Blanche Davis. She earned her R.N. degree from Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Philadelphia moving to employment with the V.A. Hines Hospital in Chicago where she also served as a U.S. Nurse Cadet. Audrey met the love of her life, John Kerber, while at the Chicago V.A. when he called upstairs to her dorm looking for some nurses to join the guys going dancing. Audrey and John raised five children starting in the midwest then moving to Livingston NJ, a community Audrey selected for its exceptional education system and recreational resources. She continued her nursing career with the V.A. Hospital in East Orange while serving as an elder and teaching Sunday school with The Presbyterian Church of Livingston. A move to the Jersey Shore followed where at age 50 Audrey completed her B.S. in health education at Monmouth College to become a school nurse and health educator. At retirement Audrey and John moved to 160 acres in the Finger Lakes where Audrey designed their home, volunteered at Hector Presbyterian Church and served as President of the Schuyler Co NY League of Women Voters. With their move from NY to Talbott TN she realized her dream of living on the water (Lake Cherokee) near the mountains. Audrey corresponded avidly and faithfully with her family and friends. All through their healthy retirement years, she and her gregarious John traveled extensively in the U.S. and abroad. Whenever possible their faithful dog companions would accompany them. A camper van trip with the dogs to Alaska was among their most treasured adventures. Audrey is survived by her children, Kay (Paul) Rietz of Columbus OH, Joanne (Jim) McGuire of Point Pleasant NJ, Craig (Cindy) Kerber of Big Pine Key FL, Christine (Allen) Schoffner of Lowman NY, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and nephew Bruce (Ruth) Donohue. She was predeceased by her beloved sister Helen Donohue, devoted husband John, first-born D'Etta Merkle and infant grandson Scott McGuire. A memorial service will be organized safely in the future. In recognition and gratitude for the compassionate care Audrey benefited from while living at Wesley Ridge since early 2018, donations in her memory may be sent to Wesley Ridge Charitable Care, 2225 Taylor Park Dr., Reynoldsburg, OH 43068
