Anthony “Tony” Thoroughman, 55, of Garrison passed away January 4, 2021 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio after a long battle with cancer.
Tony was born October 17, 1965 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Robert and Geneva Christy Thoroughman Grayson. He is survived by four brothers, Robert (Toni) Thoroughman of Cincinnati, OH, Tim (Kelly) Thoroughman of Garrison, KY, Mike (Susan) Thoroughman of Elyria, OH, and Eric Grayson of Black Oak, KY, three sisters, Missy (Joe) Story of Wallingford, KY, Judy Thoroughman of Freeville, NY, and Edwina (Brian) Spence of Maysville, KY. 
Tony is also survived by 12 nephews, Jason (Charmaine) Thoroughman, Kyle Thoroughman, both of Cincinnati, OH, Nick (Candy) Skaggs, Olive Hill, KY, Timmy Thoroughman, Garrison, KY, Clint Story, Wallingford, KY, Branham Littleton, Corey (Lauren) Littleton both of Morehead, KY, Gavin (Kristin) Grayson, Garrison, KY, Genis (Felicia) Grayson, Vanceburg, KY, David, Michael, Austin Grayson of Vanceburg, KY. Tony is survived by four nieces, Michaela (Dan) Sweatt, Cincinnati, OH, Amber (Brenea) Skaggs, Vanceburg, KY, Erica (Cody) Pertuset, West Union, OH. Tony is survived by eight great-nephews and six great-nieces. His passing is mourned by many great friends and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, who raised him, Earl and Melcine Neelly Christy of Garrison. His paternal grandparents Orville “Gayle” Thoroughman of Batavia, Ohio and Edith Chinn Thoroughman of Vanceburg. His stepfather Stanley Grayson of Charters and a brother Eddie Grayson of Vanceburg, one nephew Corey Junius of Cincinnati and a niece Heather Gentry of Moscow, Ohio.
Tony was a lifelong resident of Garrison, never venturing far from Lewis County. He was a construction laborer by trade. He loved motorcycles and spending time with his family. He was known for his good nature and his kind heart. He loved animals, especially his dogs. Later in life Tony acquired an interest in music and took up playing the guitar. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved old westerns, both movies and the old television shows. 
A public Celebration of Life is being planned for April, with interment following in Waring Cemetery in Garrison. Details will be released at a later date.
