Addie A Webster

July 15, 1939 — November 29, 2024

Blessed is the man Womb “man” that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hopes the lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall yield from bearing fruit.

Her verse 1 Jeremiah 17:9

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?

Addie Amelia Webster, who had lived in Columbus, Ohio, for the last three years, transitioned from the physical plane to the purity of spiritual omniscience on November 29th, 2024, at 85.

Mother was first thankful for her faith and forever sought greater oneness with her creator, she was always alert to spiritual awakenings. Addie was preceded in giving up the ghost by her parents, Ezekiel J. Brown, and Addie Robinson-Brown, of Kingston, N.Y, and multiple siblings, including Albert, Eddie, Sheldon, and Jean. She is survived by her loving and cherished elder sisters, Joan and Sister-in-law Sheila Brown, respectively, and she adored Cuz Patty and many others she loved from her beloved Kingston.

Addie and Webb raised their four children as a military family, serving on this inevitable journey in New York, Alaska, Virginia, Florida, and Utah! After her husband's departure in 1982, she lived in NY, MN, NM, and Ohio. She was delighted to have been a safe harbor in Minneapolis for her mother for many years, and she was so honored to have her Mom with her, and we loved having her Sister Jean out here with us, helping care for their Mother for a few years.

The eldest of us is Tess, Eugenia Marie Kincaid-Webster, her three children, Shannon, Leah, and Allen, AJ, aka “always joyful,” and she is blessed with a dozen grandchildren. The eldest son, Keith, has two children, Marcus and Tanecia, who added two Grandchildren, Eugene Jr. aka “Tump, Bone,” and his addition, Roger Ezekiel, and finally, the youngest of their union, Milton Wayne Webster, his wife who Mom adored Shelly, is the mother of seven grandchildren and twenty + Great-Grands, of whom mother got to meet all, which was among her greatest intergenerational aspirations, to meet their first and second tier lineage. In addition, the two eldest and their five children remain in Upstate New York, with five Grandchildren!

Addie had spent her childhood in Kingston and her early womanhood in Utica with two of her favorite people on the planet, her Uncle Joe and Great Aunt Wang, but her love of her Roots was deep with breadth beyond imagination, her Uncles and Aunt, were spoke of with such love, long after they had traversed the veil. Another among her favorites was her Uncle Genie Fitzgerald, who introduced her to what became her husband and our father, Eugene Sr., aka “Webb.”

Mom and Webb primarily raised their children in Alaska, where Addie could outshoot and out fish most men Webb taught and educated in survival skills, hunting, fishing, and big game. Mother also felt and knew a deep maternal relationship with her brothers and sisters' children; she doted over Carl Joseph, the eldest of our Brown familial generation, who she referred to as her eldest, despite being her Big Sister Joan's firstborn.

She loved all sports, from Genia’s softball to Keith's Football and Basketball, Gene Jr’s boxing and hockey, and Milton's bodybuilding and endurance training. Her greatest love of sports was boxing as a spectator and contestant, and she cherished Gene Jr.’s short stint in the ring and Milton and Sheldon Jr’s period of boxing, which she followed Sheldon’s through Bone.

Mother served over thirty families by providing long term foster care, DOC, and adult short-term care. She was highly respected and appreciated throughout the Twin Cities for her work and family advocacy. Many of her fostered children still reside in Minnesota and are thriving and appreciative. Most importantly, they understand the nature of surviving and thriving beyond materialism. As she ardently taught, you could not take it with you, but Academics, spiritual awareness, work ethic, and self-love were the comfort food she provided in her service!

Addies' elder kids were born at Griffis Air Force Base in Rome, N.Y., from 1958 – 1960, with Milt coming in at Safety in 1969 in Kingston, with Eddie Brown on ambulance duty, and Sheldon Brown on bedside duty. (Lol)

Despite the multiple strokes and her other maladies that prevented her from making the pilgrimage back to her beloved Kingston, her home and her love were kept fresh in her mind and embedded in our hearts for the love she received and so powerfully embraced.

Ephesian 6:13:14. Therefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand, therefore, having your loins girt about with truth and having on the breastplate of righteousness.

Queen Matriarch, Mother, we hear your sweet, melodic voice in the wee hours when you call, we feel your warm, healing embrace when we are troubled, and we know the consciousness of God through your intercessory prayer and supplication for us. We are with you always in abundance. It is never too late, complicated, or complex for you to call on any of us, for like Saints, we stand ready for you! Lovingly, you four by four4.

Across the ethers, Mother, watch your lineage thrive and overcome as you would have them do!
