Sylvia Maley (82) of Deerfield, NH, passed peacefully on Monday, June 26th, 2023 at Heritage Senior Living in Marysville, OH surrounded by love and family.
Sylvia was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on January 13, 1941 to the late John & Victoria Field of Laramie, Wyoming and was one of three children.
Sylvia graduated from Laramie high school and went on to the University of Wyoming. There she met the love of her life, Howard Maley. They were married for 58 years.
After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in English, Sylvia and Howie settled in NH and had two sons, John and Jed Maley. They spent 48 years in Deerfield and Sylvia was instrumental in helping to get the kindergarten up and running. Everyone knew the Maley’s house in Deerfield, it was routinely a stop for anyone inclined at the end of the day to catch a few innings of the Red Sox on the back porch on their way home. One Old Centre Rd was literally the place where the door was always open, and many came seeking solace, companionship, guidance, or just pure laughter after a snarky “one-liner” from Sylvia that she was notorious for.
Sylvia is survived by her son John Maley of Delaware, OH and his wife Carmen; her son Jed Maley of New Boston, NH and his wife Sara; her four beautiful grandchildren (her pride and joy), Morgan Maley and Lydia Maley of Delaware, OH and Camden Maley and Katryn Maley of New Boston, NH as well as many nieces and nephews.
