Reah Catherine Breakall

August 2, 1946 — January 9, 2023

Reah Catherine Breakall of Crown City, OH left her mortal body and went to heaven on January 9th, 2023.

She was born August 2nd, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio and was the daughter of Everett and Catherine Breakall.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Elsie, Juanita and her brothers Arthur, Ronald, John, Bill and George Breakall.

The focus of her life was going to church and helping family and friends. She did factory work in Ohio as well as work at a hospital in Springfield, OH before becoming disabled and moving to Kentucky. She lived many years in Kentucky, building relationships in the Baily Switch, Barbourville, Corbin and London areas and attended church at Pleasant Ridge Baptist church for many years. She later moved to Crown City, OH to be closer to her brothers John and George and remained after they passed on. She attended church in Crown City, OH also, before going to the hospital in Gallopolis, OH, then to Abbeyshire Place in the same city.

Reah was a loving mother of two boys, a good grandmother to 6 grandkids, an enduring and loving sister to her brothers and sisters and a friend to many. When she was at her best, there was nobody that could be more caring, thoughtful and generous. She would go out of her way to help someone in need and without the expectation of anything in return. Her laughter and stories were always a treasure and the grandkids remember most, the times they spent with her, playing games such as Yahtzee or Sorry and Monopoly. She always had great stories and even though some were unbelievable, they were stories her family and friends will always remember. Despite any faults she may have had, she always told people about Jesus and how he made a difference in her life. She always tried to spread the good news of Christ and advocated for the people of God. Her wonderful hospice nurse mentioned that each time she would come to care for and pray for Reah, she would end up praying for her and offer her to lay in the bed and rest with her. This is a perfect example of her generous spirit. She will be greatly missed and we all hope to see her again someday in Heaven.

Reah is survived by her son Everett E Breakall and his wife Tabatha of San Diego, CA, Everett and Maria Stortchak's (ex) sons Phillip and Kondrat. She is also survived by her son Raymond L Breakall and his wife Angie Breakall of Berea, KY and their daughter Bethany A Breakall of Lawrenceburg, KY and husband Jerry Hockensmith, their sons Ethan, Andrew and Jonas of Berea, KY. Reah also has two living sisters Garnet McWhorter of OH and Hazel Owens of Gray, KY. She has nieces and nephews that she also cherished, that are still with us. She is also survived by many cherished friends.

A family gathering will be planned for some time in the Spring with family and friends to honor her memory.

In lieu of flowers, please give money directly to someone in need, that will use that money for their struggling family or for some good. This would honor her memory more than anything. If you have no money to give, do some kindness for someone without expecting anything in return.

A special thank you to Abbeyshire Place and their kindness as well as the remarkable work that the hospice team at National Church Residences have done regarding her wonderful care. She passed peacefully and without pain while holding her son Raymond and granddaughter Bethany's hands and while her grandson Jonas patted her as they spoke to her.
