Martin Wayne Riggs, Jr.

Martin Wayne Riggs Jr, 68 of Thornville, Ohio passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his wife and four daughters on March 12, 2022 at 12:30 pm. He was born June 14, 1953 in Columbus, Ohio and was the son of the late Martin and Pearl Riggs Sr. Martin was survived by his wife of 47 years Susan, his four daughters Shawna Vohwinkel, Christy (Terry) Branz, Carrie (Travis) Ball, and Chasity Riggs (Cory) and a close family friend Danny Helle. His grandchildren Dalton (Autumn) Aubery, Dawson Daniels, Dallin Daniels, Victoria Vohwinkel and Cory Vohwinkel. Jacklynn Branz and Jarid Branz, Jessica Delong, Jenifer Elliott,. Kayla Riggs, Courtney Ball, Connor Ball and Tori Ball. Steven Sears and Aliya Sears. His great grandchildren Sophia, Autym, Ryan and Sarah. He was also survived by his siblings Doreen (Pat) Stephens, Dianne (Jack) Nunamaker, Robin Phillips, and Duane (Karen) Riggs with many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law James Vohwinkel, granddaughter Jasmine Branz and his brother-in-law Robert Phillips. Martin touched a lot of lives and had the biggest heart for such a grumpy old man. He was the greatest teacher to his grandchildren where building hot rods were concerned. He spent many years as an electrician and made many friends, but not too many. He was a devoted family man. Loved his wife and children with his entire being and they always knew it. He always went above and beyond to provide for his children their whole lives. He had the best stories we loved to hear over and over and the entertainment factor when we were all together was always the best and provided his family with many wonderful memories.
